frequently asked questions
You may have some questions about what we do and how it works. We have answered some frequently asked questions below, but if you still have any unanswered questions please pop us a mail through our ENQUIRY FORM and we will get back to you as soon as we can with some more information.
-
Do I need to book in advance? We have recently increased our capacity for bouquet preservations so that we can take in more bouquets, including last minute enquiries. This being said, it does get busy in wedding season and it is helpful to book at least a month in advance just to be sure we keep presses open for your flowers.
-
How long after my wedding do you need my bouquet? We will need to work with your flowers as soon after your wedding or event as possible. For weddings over the weekend Monday drop off and couriers are best, however if your wedding has recently passed and your flowers are still looking fresh please reach out and we may still be able to help you.
-
How do I get my flowers to you?Your flowers will either need to be dropped of at, or couriered to the studio in Pinelands, Cape Town. For Cape Town based events, we recommend you drop your flowers off on the first weekday after your event. For those needing to courier your flowers, we will send you some tips and guidelines for you to safely pack and post your flowers to us via overnight delivery. We work with flowers from across South Africa.
-
Do you need to know what flowers are in my bouquet to book? No, we don't need to know and most bouquets we receive are surprises. It can be helpful to let us know so we can prepare accordingly as each flower presses differently, however if you don't know what's going to be in your bouquet yet, that's totally ok too.
-
What frame sizes are available? We offer a variety of shapes and sizes. To have a look through the framing options please reach out via the contact page or via email and we can send you all our options to browse through. We also love working on custom pieces, so if you have something specific in mind please let us know so we can help bring your ideas to life.
-
What frame size do you recommend for an average size bouquet? The large frame is my favourite for fitting in your full bouquet. The smaller frames are great, but we do end up using less of your original bouquet in the frame.
-
How long does it take to receive my frame? The preservation and framing process can take around 16 weeks - 20 weeks, depending on the type of flowers, seasonality and whether you are booking in or outside of peak wedding season. We check in along the way with mails and designs, your response times and changes made will also impact the timelines.
-
Will the colours in my bouquet change during the preservation process?Flowers will naturally change colour as the preserve and dry and will continue to evolve slowly over time. Some go darker, others lighter and some get a more sepia look. This all depends on the type of flower and how fresh they are when we receive them. We don't use any artificial colour enhancers on your flowers as we want them to remain intact long term, rather than hold their colour short term. This is part of the beauty of it all, the natural and original value of your flowers, to keep forever.
-
I have kept and dried my bouquet from my wedding. Can you press it?we don't press already dried wedding bouquets, but we do create shadow boxes that are deeper and can create an artwork for you from your dried bouquet.
-
How do I care for my frame? Please try keep your frame out of direct sunlight to maximise colour retention and away from steams (for example a bathroom) to avoid any moisture getting into your frame.
